I would point out one error about “sweet girl” – it is not an old traditional song (no one in Armenia I talked to had ever heard of it, even in its Armenian name). It was composed in 1936 by blind oud player Udi Hrant Kenkulian for the girl he eventually married. It is a sweet story (you can find it on Google). The folk dancer recording is horribly distorted , but even the original is not the best quality. I wish someone would re-record it, using the original instrumentation. Modern recordings either lack the finesse of the original or soup it up with electronics.
