    I might have an interesting addition to the article on Boereasca. Not on the dance, but the music.
    This music was recently posted on YouTube:

    It’s a very old recording, one of the oldest I know of. Look also at the spelling of the dance name on the record label: Hora boyarescă. This might be a misspelling (in Romanian the -y- would never be used) because the record was issued in the US.

  2. I was interested to see the versions of the dance taught later by Sunni Bloland and Alexandru David. Interestingly, there is yet and earlier form that Sunni taught back in the ’70s-’80s called “Boiereasca” . It is a “forward and back” one figure dance that I rather like better, and shares the same feel as the Alunelul Sucit she taught from the same record. The music is found on Nevofoon LP 15 005 (year not listed). I have the syllabus for that.
