MANY Turkish songs start with the words Gün ola. Gün translates as “day”. “Gün ola” translates into something for which there seems to be no English equivalent. Recreational folk dancers know of two different songs used to accompany two different choreographies of Turkish steps, both named Gün ola. Both are recordings made by prominent figures in the Turkish Rock ‘n Roll scene, known as Anatolian Rock. To know more about the recreational folk dances called Gün ola, read here.
Gün Ola Devran Döne
Below is the song Bora Özkök used to accompany a dance he arranged and named after the song.

Gün ola harman ola…
Lyrics and translation from comments under https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqj9FoSBfZw Yıllar oldu halim böyle, I have been years like this Gün ola harman ola.. Blend the day Kor olup dönmeden küle, To ash without turning into embers Sabır ola sarman ola... Have patience.... Nerde o pembe yarınlar? Where are those pink tomorrows? Nerede mor kaldırımlar? Where are the purple pavements? İnsanoğlu böyle mi var? Is that how human beings exist? Gün ola harman ola... Blend day by day. Gün ola harman ola.. Blend the day.... Sabır ola sarman ola... Have patience.... Ye babam ye, ye kalmasın.. Eat, my father, eat it. Fakir ekmekte almasın. The poor do not buy bread Dünyayı yesen doymazsın! If you eat the world, you won't get enough! Sabır ola sarman ola.. Have patience.... Cambaz olduk bak hepimiz, Look, we all become acrobats, İp üstünde kaderimiz, Our destiny on the rope, Yürüyoruz hep çaresiz, We always walk desperate, Gün ola harman ola... Blend day by day.
Translation by: Taylan Altan https://lyricstranslate.com/en/g%C3%BCn-ola-harman-ola-tomorrow-another-day.html This is my situation year in year out Tomorrow is another day Into ashes without burning like ember* Patience leads to salvation Where are those pink tomorrows? Where are the purple pavements? Is that why humankind is like this? Tomorrow is another day Tomorrow is another day Patience leads to salvation Eat it, dude, finish it Don't let the poor get bread as well If you ate the earth, you wouldn’t be full Patience leads to salvation We all have become distortionist Our fate walks a tightrope We always walk desperately Tomorrow is another day Tomorrow is another day Patience leads to salvation * It is a sentence used as being very miserable without living the amenities of life
