Brestaška râčenica – English lyrics

Brestaška râčenica is supposedly a dance of the Gagauzi. The Gagauzi have many folk songs in their own langauage, which is Turkish with Bulgarian borrowings. What’s interesting about the lyrics below is that they’re in Bulgarian. Lyrics: Translation :
Radina majka dumase, To Radina mother spoke,
Mar Rado mar kleta daste, Rada, my poor daughter,

Oti si skoro dohodjas, Why do you come back so soon?
I koga dodes se places, And cry when you come back?
I koga dodes se places, And cry when you come back?

Dotegnalo mij male le, I am fed up with
Ot Ivanovi dve sestri. the two sisters of Ivan

Vse gin a izvor zavarvam, I always meet them at the well,
Kotli nalivat prelivat, They let the buckets overflow,
Kotli nalivat prelivat, They let the buckets overflow,
Vse edna duma mi dumat. And tell me always the same.

Ja ela Rado ja ela, Come, Rado, come to us,
Da vidis batja Ivana, To see our brother Ivan,
Kak lezi Rado kak boli, How he lays downs and suffers,
Ot merak Rado za tebe. Longing for you, Rado.
